Delete Your Guruvice Account
Last updated: 5 July 2026
This page explains how to delete your Guruvice account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to everyone who uses the Guruvice mobile app, whether you joined as a learner or as a guru.
How to request deletion
You can delete your Guruvice account in either of these ways:
- In the app (fastest): open the Guruvice app → Settings → Delete Account, then confirm.
- By email: write to privacy@guruvice.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.
No login-protected form is required to read these instructions — this page is public so you can find it before or after you have access to the app.
Before you can delete: no open commitments
To protect other users and your own earnings, you cannot delete your account while you have open commitments on the platform. You will need to resolve these first:
- Upcoming or in-progress sessions or webinars — whether you booked them as a learner or are hosting them as a guru, they must be completed or cancelled before you can delete.
- Pending payouts or an unsettled balance — as a guru, any earnings still awaiting payout must be paid out or otherwise settled first.
The app tells you if something is blocking deletion, so you can clear it and then try again.
How deletion works
Once you confirm (and nothing is blocking it):
- Immediate deactivation. Your account is deactivated straight away — you are signed out on all devices, your profile stops being visible and bookable, and you can no longer be found or contacted on Guruvice.
- 30-day grace period. Your data is held in this deactivated state for 30 days. During this window you can contact privacy@guruvice.com if you change your mind and want to recover the account.
- Permanent deletion. After 30 days, your personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted, except for the limited records we are legally required to keep (see below).
What gets deleted
When the 30-day grace period ends, we permanently remove the personal data tied to your account, including:
- Your profile and account details (name, email, phone number, photo, bio, and login credentials).
- Guru profile content you created (listings, availability, package and webinar setups).
- Your booking and session history, messages, and saved preferences and settings.
- Reviews you wrote about other users.
- Any files or media you uploaded.
Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered.
What is kept (and why)
Some data is not deleted, either to preserve the integrity of the platform or to meet legal, tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention obligations:
- Reviews you received as a guru are retained but anonymized — they are detached from your identity so they no longer identify you, which preserves the integrity of ratings and feedback for the learners who wrote them.
- Transaction and payout records (invoices, payment and refund history) are kept for the period required by applicable tax and financial-record laws, then deleted.
- Records we must retain to comply with a legal request or to resolve a dispute are kept only as long as legally necessary.
Wherever possible, this retained data is kept in a minimized or anonymized form and is not used for any other purpose. When the required retention period ends, it is permanently deleted.
